End of Project R & R

Time sure fly past quickly when one is having fun. My 2 weeks term break is coming to an end and I am dreading the start of the next term. The last week of the hols was time spent having gatherings and dinners together before everybody gets busy with tonnes of assignments due for submission. Yes, indeed it is a vicious cycle of more readings, summaries and assignments with tight datelines for me. I can only hope and pray that I will good time management to complete all that is due. Till I have time to write again, take care peeps..Do drop me a tag to see if I am still surviving..

Project R & R

Project Rest & Relax (or R&R for short) commenced on 8th April, Saturday. The day started with a trip to HabourTown shopping centre, a brand direct factory outlet. Phoebe and I shopped around for a couple of hours and decided to head to the city since there was not much of a sale at HarbourTown. At the end of the day, I bought 2 tops. Nothing much.

9th April, Sunday: My kampong (Jun, Pao Ee, Liufei, Phoebe and me) together with Liufei's boyfriend (Chee Kiong), Kar Hian, Grace and Jasmine set off for Port Adelaide where we stopped at the temple and Torrens market. Torrens market was a good buy with cheap and fresh groceries and seafood. We decided on the spot that we were to have a steamboat that night. After Torrens market, we made our way down to Port Adelaide to catch a glimpse of dolphins. We bought tickets to board the dolphin cruise as it GURANTEED all passengers that we would be able to see dolphins. Anyhow, I only managed to catch the backview of the dolphins diving into the water and for the rest of the trip it was just "soaking" in the sun and the sea view.

Cruise View

11th-12th April, Tuesday & Wednesday: A trip to Fleurieu Penisula was planned and all of us (Jasmine, Karen, Wendy, Jun, Pao Ee, Phoebe, Karhian and his 2 friends and me) set off eagerly for the trip along the Fleurieu Penisula. 1st stop: Christies Beach. Next was McClarenVale for lunch and to visit couple of wineries. As time was running out, we made a quick stop at Goolwa to catch the view from a bridge. Finally, the last stop of the day was Victor Harbor where a night was spend. A few of us wanted to catch the sunrise but we never got round to waking up at 4.30am as our brain hypnotized us to sleep.

Anyway, we continued our tour around Victor Habour. 1st stop: Granite Island. The view of the Bluff was magnificent! After the walk around Granite Island, our stomachs started to grumble and it was off for lunch at a famous Fish & Chips shop in Victor Harbour. After the satiating lunch, it was off to climb and conquer the Bluff. I shall not talk so much and let you soak into the view from the Bluff.

While all of us were admiring the scenic views, a swarm of giant ants, wasps and don't know what else, decided to invade on our privacy. We hurriedly tried to start our descend after Jun was stung on her baby finger before another casualty was on its way. Pao Ee yelled out in pain, only to know that she was the next casualty. Thank God that both their stings were not poisonous. As soon as both of them were feeling better, we started on our trip back to Adelaide.

1st stop was at Glacial rock. We had a rather unique tour guide of cannine species, called "Snuggles" as named by Karen, aka the big Ass (pronounced as ARS)-->named by Jasmine. He brought us to the "Glacial" rock, waited for us while we took pictures and then brought us to the toilet.

After a reluctant farewell, we went on our way stopping at Yankailla, a small town, for a time of ice-cream and snacks. We then drove on to Aldinga with little enthusiam as tiredness started to seep in. The last stop of the trip was at Hallet Cove to catch the sunset. All in all, this was a GREAT trip, getting to know each other and Adelaide better. Also, praise the Lord for the wonderful weather that He has blessed us with!

Ok, that is a list of some of the personality that I think I possess.

What a week!

The past week has been a busy one for me. I have 3 assignments that are due this week; 1 on tuesday, 1 on thursday and 1 on friday. It was like a frantic rush to complete the assignments. I thought I would not be able to complete it on time! The conversations that I had with my coursemates were regarding the completion of assignments and I could see that most of them were getting stressed out. I won't say that I am not stressed out. I believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Anyway, I happen to catch the rainbow that was peeking into the uni hall courtyard last monday. Its appearance was timely as it reminded me that after weathering the storm, there is something good that we can all expect. A quote from Gilbert K. Chesterton, "And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow"
