What a weekend!

VVRROOMM!!This weekend of mine seem to go past within the blink of the eye. Just like the F1 cars zooming by!

Nevertheless, it was great being able to catch up with Jenny and Ivy on Friday, for some girlie talk! Its amazing to see how God has caused our friendship to blossom. Being a newbie to the care group, which I joined in July, I can't imagine having new found friends with genuine love for you. Its simply amazing! Great fellowshipping there! We talked about issue(s) that we face at work, people's personality and our future life-time companions. Jenny mentioned something about the type of man that I'm looking for - someone calm and mature. In that instance, my face colour started changing shade! She was spot-on! No wonder, the guys that I've been dating, did not work out. Ha! Nevertheless, praying and believing God for one at the right place and right time.

My Saturday was a long however, fun! Following paragraph starts with the sequence of the day event.

Started the day at 6.30am since I had to go to work. After work, I made my way down to attend the pre-service Arrow sermon by Pastor Donna Crouch, who preached about having an armour-bearer spirit in serving. After which was followed by Arrow service where Pastor preached about having Glory in the marketplace. After service, was dinner at Mos Burger, J8, where Jenny, Mel and I took time to fellowship. To end off the day, it was watching Mamma Mia! the movie with majority of my care group mates! The movie plot though cliche, it was awesome!!! It made me want to dance in my seat and I was singing to all the Abba songs!

To end off the week, I attended service with Jenny and care group mates at SIS and had a wonderful lunch with Jenny! Its awesome!

Marked with favour

I can't believe I received favour at work today. Even as I typed out this post, the feeling remains fresh in me.

For those who do not know, I was approached by my caregroup leader, Mark, on Friday, asking me if I am interested in serving 1) the adolescents' camp from 9-12 Dec and 2) xmas party for under-privilege children. At that time, something stirred within me as this sounded like a perfect opportunity to serve the Lord. I have always wanted to serve but I did not feel ready to serve in a ministry as I'm still exploring. I expressed my interest to Mark, however if I can get leave approval from my boss.

Over weekends, I asked the Lord if I should serve in the camp and prayed for leave approval. Getting leave approved has never been an easy one although I seemed to have favour with my boss each time I ask for her approval. Those dear to me can be my testimony - favour to go for YSWA camp at a time when my department had severe manpower shortage - operating at a capacity of 4.5 dietitians for the whole hospital. This time, knowing that my colleague has already planned for her holiday in Dec, which is the same time as the camp, my heart sank!

Nevertheless, I prayed and asked the Lord for favour. And me, being me (I'm quite kaisu!) I asked my bestie and church/cg mates to pray for me - that leave will be approved. So, today, I actually planned to enter my boss room to ask for her approval before going up to the wards. However, things did not go according to plan as I bumped into her while walking out from the dietitians' cubicles and she walking in from the kitchen after her daily morning inspection. Told boss that I needed to talk to her and she said I sounded serious as I talked to her in hush tones. I explained to her about my taking leave from 9-12 Dec as I am interested in serving for the camp. Boss took out her diary and approved my leave there and then on the spot! You should have seen my face. I was in awe! I thought I would have to explain or be expected to compromise. But, NO!!! I was granted leave with no resistant or questions asked or any compromise made. And, all this was done and agreed within 5mins.

Isn't God amazing? The moment I received approval from my boss and I stepped out from the office, I started texting the good news to those whom I asked to keep me prayers. I feel like Esther, whom she pleased and won the favour of everyone who saw her (Esther 2:9/15-17). Its amazing and I can't wait to serve the Lord. Thank you Daddy God!

God is My Rewarder and Provider

Today's sermon and daily devotional spoke very strongly to me. Pastor Lian preached about sowing God's word into our life, standing and believing in His word and speaking it! In due time and season, we will reap His blessings! It takes time for the word to be sown into our hearts. Isn't it amazing?!

In today's Daily Devotional reminds me that my Daddy God is my Rewarder and Provider.

Believe That God Is Your Rewarder

Hebrews 11:6
6But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Most people quote only the first part of Hebrews 11:6 — “without faith it is impossible to please Him”. Yet, it goes on to say, “for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”. In other words, the faith that pleases God is the kind of faith that believes that God exists and that He is a rewarder.

The Bible also says that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. (Hebrews 11:1) So even in times of difficulty, when we don’t see good things happening in our circumstances, we are to believe that God will turn things around and reward us.

God turned things around for Ruth, the Moabite widow, when she believed the Lord and made Him her God. (Ruth 1:16) The Bible tells us that she was given a “full reward” by the Lord when she came under His wings for refuge. (Ruth 2:12) Not only did He give her protection, He also gave her abundant provision, exceeding favor and a glorious redemption. (Ruth 2:9–17, 3:11, 4:10–13)

When Rahab, the harlot of Jericho, heard reports of how the Lord had opened up the Red Sea for the children of Israel, she believed that “He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath”. (Joshua 2:9–11) Though Rahab had not personally witnessed the miracles, she believed God and hid the Jewish spies from their pursuers. (Joshua 2:4–6) Because of her faith, she not only did not perish with those who did not believe (Joshua 6:25, Hebrews 11:31), but she was also given a place in the “hall of faith” in Hebrews 11.

God was so pleased with the faith of these two Gentile women that He not only blessed them in their lifetimes, but He also put them into the genealogy of His Son Jesus Christ, the great Redeemer and rewarder.

Beloved, when you come to the Lord with your needs, believe that He is God, and that He is a rewarder. God has pleasure in this kind of faith. He wants to be the rewarder of your faith in Him!

In Him, I will trust that He will provide whatever prayer request(s) that I have. Lord, I trust that my leave will be approved for the Dare Camp. Amen!
