Friends...

I don't know what has overcome me today!!!I just sat down and decided to read the autograph books that I have had since primary school. Looking back at all those memories and the rather cliche poems like:

"Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
But not as sweet as you!"

Suddenly, I started to ponder on the friendships that I have forged throughout my awakening moment on Earth.

"It is by chance that we met and by choice we became friends...
Friendship is such a strange thing.
We find ourselves telling each other the deepest details of our lives,
things we don't even share with our families who raised us...
But what is a friend?
Is it a confidant, a lover, a fellow email junkie, some1 with a shoulder to cry on or a listening ear...
A friend is all of these things and more. No matter where we met, I call you friend.
A word so small and yet so large in feeling. A word filled with emotion.

It is true great things come in small packages.
Once the package of friendship has been opened, it can never be closed.
It is a constant book always written, waiting to be read and enjoyed.
We may have our disagreements, we may argue, show concern for one another.
Friendship is a unique bond that lasts through it all....

A part of me is put into my friends...
some of it is my humor, some my listening ear, some is the real life experiences,
some it is my romanticism, but with it all, it is friendship.
Friendships forged are a construct stronger than steel built as a foundation
necessary for life and necessary for love.
Friends...you and me...
you brought another friend. and then there were 3...we started our group...
Our circle of friends and like this circle,
There is no beginning or end..."
Is it becos I'm about to go to Australia that I suddenly felt this way? Is it becos Tammy was right in saying that I am not able to put down everything and leave for Australia? Was she right in saying that I will be homesick?Even I myself, do not have the answers to these questions. But I can tell you 1 thing, I'm gald that the Lord has given me the opportunity to be accepted into Flinders University, to pursue a Bachelor in Nutrition & Dietetics. Right now, I can only pray and hope that I will be awarded a scholarship! Till then, I'll treasure each friendship that has been forged and to my friends, "Lets Keep In Touch!!!"

Childhood Dream(s) VS Reality

Childhood dreams??? Do you remember urs?

Wearing a dark blue pinafore, white belt and white blouse, I remembered fondly those primary 1 days when my English teacher used to make each student write the composition title, "My Ambition". Without hesitation, I would describe about a lady, dressed in white, wearing an odd-shaped, white hat with a red-coloured cross on it. I was very certain that I wanted to be like her, helping helpless patients who required our care and attention.

Looking back, I realised that my ambition has steered alittle of this path. Now, instead of wanting to become a nurse and being addressed as "MISSY", I wanted so much to become a dietitian, where I am able to counsel patients on the type of diet that they are able to eat. As the type of dieases that Singapore is suffering from, are mostly diet-related, people need to watch what they put into their mouth, too much of something will be detrimental to our health. Despite the recent attention to our health, people still take for granted that the diet plays a part in our getting hypertension or, diabetes, or CVD (cardiovascular diseases)...Why do people only start to make changes to their diet when they get the disease? Whatever happen to the saying, "prevention is better than cure"?

The 3yrs spent in TP was fulfilling. Many friendships were forged from my caregrp (AA36), ASc, my kakis, thru TP events etc..Wat's more, I learnt to make positive changes to my diet, learnt to practice healthier eating habits like removing the skin from the chicken, snack on fruits rather than chips etc. Yes, of course, Singapore is a food-paradise, but too bad I'm not 1 who appreciate food that much, so, I certainly do NOT regret making these changes...

1 down, 1 more PAPER to GO!!!

Today, marks the start of my mugging period for ND. Hmm..Kinda worried for this paper cos I didn't do well for my term test!!Scared I can't get a B for it..Anyway, today's FSM paper was manageable. Managed to remember most of the stuff that I studied and memorised!! Gotta thank Tammy & my sis for helping me to recall the points. Did something silly today. When I looked at the FSM paper, started smiling to myself cos I spotted most of the questions like the 1 on the factors affecting Work Design, the improvement of programmes like STS, SPC, JIT & ISO 9000 as well as the 15marks qns. Hope I will get a B+ for FSM as my overall grade. Keke..Ok, I think I will end off here. Till I write again after my ND paper and tell u more about my outing with my nutrition kakis..

Hip Hip Hurray!!! IT'S OVER!!

Time sure flies. Cannot believe that it is the month of March liao...
Which means, I'll be graduating in about 2 weeks' time (unofficially though). Boy am I going to miss my time in TP. Still can't believe that I'm graduating. 3 years went by sooo...QUICKLY. I'm really thankful for all the friendships that I've made and forged, the people who came into my life, ASc people, CDS friends, my caregroup (AA36), the people whom I know from the different electives and the list just goes on...

By the way, Give me a hi-5!!!Today marks the end of my Major Project. I just completed my poster presentation..The feeling is just undescrible!!!OOH!!!Yeah!!!By the way, my friends look good in formal wear. Once this is over and done with, need to direct my focus to studying. Have 1 final test for FSM next week and 1 exam for ND. I just hope that I'll be able to get at least a B for both papers.

Hmm..feeling kind of reluctant to graduate though. I am not sure whether I am ready for the work force, too many doubts but so little time.Anyway, going to catch up on my beauty sleep. All the best for the exams, people!!! Jia You!!! Last Semester liao!!!

Tired, Mentally-Drained & STRESSED!!!...

I am tired, stressed, mentally drained and "depressed". Yesterday was the due date for my Major Project report. Finally, after 4 months of hard work (cos my grp started in Nov), we have seen the submission of our report. I must say, I could have done a better report if ONLY I have started early. There are just too many "IF ONLYS" in life. Why are there things that we have done in our life, only to look back and say, "If only, I've..."? [SIGH!!].

Still, I can't believe that I managed to pull through until the report. I felt that working on a project for 4 months was tedious, physicall, mentally draining, requires lots of team work and co-operation since you see your team members almost every other day. What's worse, you get to see the other person's trait/personality. I think Sandy is a wonderful partner to work with. She had to endure my tantrums, my mood swings and what have you. [S.A.N.D.Y], thanks for being a GGRREEAATT partner!!! The project would not have been successful withOUT you.

Just to let you on what's been happening, I've submitted my deposit for my offer letter to Flinders' Uni. Now, I just pray and hope that I will be granted a scholarship. Pls include me in your prayers, my friends!!Till then, take care...
