HER birthday

Its HER birthday today! Happy Birthday Soph! Just as Corrinne May's Birthday Song goes,

Happy birthday my friend
Here's to all the years we've shared together
All the fun we've had
You're such a blessing
Such a joy in my life
May the good Lord bless you
And may all your dreams come true

You have been a blessing in my life and I can't imagine how far our friendship has blossomed. Indeed, it has weathered all sorts of storms - childish tempers, different pretertiary institutions, overseas, uni and working life. You have seen me when I was most down, when I felt homesick, when I was interested in the opposite gender, basically you know my deep and darkest secret(s), if any and most of all, there's no judgment from you! Thanks for being such a pal! May our friendship continue to strengthen!

Love

Love is so indescribable - it creates a feeling of euphoria and yet a feeling of uncertainty. How do you know if the other party is interested in you? Praise God if you are interested in that person and the feeling is reciprocated.

Its interesting to see how God is working in my life as I trust Him for a man worthy of my love. He wrote in my heart sometime back during Women's meeting. At that time, the feeling was so strong when Deaconess Karen shared about the love story of Ruth and Boaz. I enjoyed the feeling that God gave, however, I started to question - is it really him?

I know it is not a crush like some cute/handsome guy that I meet. In fact, I realised that I grew to respect and was interested in him as time ticked by. There were many instances where there were just too many "coincidences" of me and him. Examples include my secret santa, EJ camp - 5 Schools of Royalties (seeing me down and dirty), being a core member etc. In fact, even when I talk to him, I realise my heart beat was beating at constant beat/min - I felt comfortable. Is that how it is supposed to be? I feel elated when I receive text messages from him. In fact, while helping out with the Xmas party, I chatted with his family and realised that his mum knows quite a bit of stuff about me - what does that suppose to mean? Is that coincident or what?

Love for now, is too complicated for me to handle. In fact, I will leave it in God's hands and pray that if he is really the one for me, God will move on his side. For now, I am enjoying every opportunity to be able to work alongside with him.

Ps: my apologies if this entry doesn't seem to have much thought.

Rest - a start to 2009

Happy 2009!!

I can't believe my eyes and ears when I learnt from my colleagues that I will be taking over the surgical wards for my new rotation in February. I was like, "WHAT??!!" A wave of apprehension, stress and fear came over me. All at once, I felt my confidence level plummet down to zero. I prayed to the Lord as one of my request for 2009 for growth in my career. And, never did I imagine that He will put me as the dietitian in-charge for the surgical wards. Really, the cases in surgical wards have always caused me to fumble and I had my share of it on Friday when my colleague gave me a case for practise and to ease me into transition. I took an hour to complete the case instead of the usual 15-30minutes. In fact, I had to ring up my colleague to check my management plans, just in case I made any mistakes.

In fact, I got so stressed up over my new ward rotation that I started to question my competency. Such thought(s) the Devil put into my head! Anyway, I was led to listen to Pastor's sermon on "Rest - A Holy Spirit Directed Activity". As I was listening to it on my way to work on Saturday, there was a constant theme that was repeated - rest unto the Lord and do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble (Matthew 6:34). I decided to cast to the Lord about my new ward rotation and I prayed for knowledge, clarity, good visualisation skills and confidence. Also I asked the Lord to give me a word at today's sermon.

Indeed, He has answered my request exceedingly and abundantly. Not only did I get the revelation that I much needed but Pastor preached a whole sermon about it - Stress and rest. How great our DaddyGod is! So, for 2009, I am going to priortise rest. And with rest, I know I will receive grace (which is unearned, undeserved, unmerited favour). There's so much that I want to share but those dear to me will have already heard the revelation that I received.

Before I conclude this post, I want to add - I am already seeing how DaddyGod is blessing me at the start of 2009. Providing me career growth by placing me in the surgical wards and knowing that I will get stressed over my new rotation, He gave me the key to unlocking that stress and labouring into rest - speaking in tongues, through Pastor's preaching today. Isn't He amazing? Indeed, He will never leave me nor forsake me. I can't wait to receive more of His blessings for me. Be prepared Jo, your blessings is gonna hit you all over the place that there's where you can outrun it!

Have a blessed week peeps!

Year 2009

Year 2009 will be an ACCEPTABLE Year of the Lord where delight, favour and acceptance will profusely abound as proclaimed by Pastor Prince.

This year, I cast 3 request(s) unto the Lord:
1) For a relationship
2) Favour in my workplace / studies
3) Financial break-through

I know that 2009 will be a GREAT year because the Lord has gone into it and He declares that it will be good. I cannot wait for my request(s) to come to pass and when the girls and I revisit it on Christmas Day, we know it will be good news!

Nevertheless, I know that there maybe trial(s) that will come my way, however, it will not last long - Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me (Psalm 23: 4). They are only but a shadow as I will enjoy more good days than evil days. These trial(s) will only strengthen my walk with Him as He prepares me for something greater.

Anyway, as with all other years, these are my New Year resolutions:
1) Walker closer with the Lord
2) Relationship
3) Career - growth, mentoring, perhaps? / further studies
4) Keep slim and fit with more running
5) Try out more sports e.g. wakeboarding (stand and ride the waves), diving (?), kayaking/canoeing
