Island Life-->I Love it!!!

Rain clouds hung over threatening in the skies and waiting to dampen our day at Sentosa. However, this was not to be as we arrived at Siloso beach. The weather wasn't too hot when we first stepped foot onto the beach but the sun started to scorch everyone on the beach. The beach was crowded as usual, being the weekends and everyone is trying to make the full use of the last weekend before school starts. Nonetheless, I had an enjoyable time with those who went for the outing yesterday-->Joanne, Emily, Shee Wee, Yan Ming, Eugene, Fadhli, Jeremy, Alan and Audrey, who joined us for a little while. We played volleyball, frisbee, soaked in the super salty seawater, played captain's ball, had sorbet (New Zealand Ice cream), taking tram rides...It was nice catching up with each and everyone who turned up for the outing. Nice to put aside everything for awhile...Bathing was a "huge" problem for the girls as the queue was long and looked like it did not even moved an inch. WHY? Emily, Joanne & I decided to take a shower in the open while shee wee queued in line. After it seemed like we look clean, Shee Wee was still standing at the same spot. So, I went to the toilet to change and came out only to see her standing at the same place. So, persuaded Shee Wee to go have a shower in the open. I guessed the boys were getting impatient as they waited for us 4 girls to get cleaned...But all in all, I hoped that everyone had a gd time though we went home burnt..

After the outing they went out for dinner while I made my way to my Aunt's place for a family gathering...Thank God I went for the gathering or else, I would have missed all the hongbaos that they gave me for luck and bon voyage...Haha...But I'm glad that I attended both the outing and the family gathering because it the ties that bind you together and you know that you can count on these people to help you through...Looking forward to the next ASc chalet before I fly off...

HELP!! I don't know how I'm supposed to feel..

As I sit down to type this entry, a Christian song popped in my head.

Recently, I have been worrying about alot of things. No, not school work or the working life, but rather, its about the finances. As I have not been a successful applicant for the scholarship, my parents had to look for other alternatives of payment media. On wednesday, I went down with my parents to the loans department to see the viable options of loan. In the end, they decided to use their policy money as a form of finance media for my studies. After that, we went down to Sim Lim Square to see the laptops. After going round for 2 storeys,(we worked our way down from the 6th floor to the 4th floor) decided to buy the Acer travelmate 4103 laptop. It cost $2290 which included 2 webcams, Norton anti-virus software, cleaning kit, acer optical mouse and a 512MB thumbdrive. Was a rather worthy deal!! My fingers are quite "itchy" but waiting for my da jie to come back from her retreat before we start to play around with MY laptop. So contradicting right?

Anyway, went out with Phoebe and Sally yesterday to catch up with them. Been ages since I last saw the both of them. Watched Mr & Mrs Smith..Nice movie..I thought that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie looked nice onset..Suave and pretty respectively. Nonetheless, I received a phone call from my agent regarding my successful application for the housing. Yeah!!!But I realised that it was a single rm and not a double rm. Cos Phoebe and I planned to be rmmates but looks like we maybe neighbours instead. Ok, now my parents have to make another payment..I guess there's alot of payments that needs to be done since I'm a new student entering the academic year.

Certainly looking forward to entering the next phase of my life and I just pray that I will be able to produce the results. Anyway, my dear friends and acquaintances, I hope we'll be able to meet up some time before I fly off to Adelaide. Looking forward to the Sentosa Outing tmr with ASc peeps!

I Say..

Backstabbing, cutting other people's sales, pushing the blame, pointing fingers, saying," Not ME!!!" Haiz...All these are so common when I am on the selling floor. Yes, we need to do this in order to survive, meet sales quotas etc etc. Whose not doing all these in the working world? But, hello! whatever happened to our sense of righteousness? Do we just chuck them to 1 side in order to make the cut? I guess, that is the real working world. Yes, I have working experiences and with each different working stint, I have lessons that I took home. I guess, I am not cut out for the retail line. Or maybe, with experience,I MAY 1 day be like that too...Ok, enough about my rantings...I have some gossips to share.Haha, if these can be classified as gossips.


1) Most of the promoters are boycotting the brand, CL. I don't know but, recently, I am begining to realise that they play dirty all the time. [Yes, people do that, who don't right?] Anyway, there was this instance when promoter M told me that the customer wanted the items and put at the counter. As it was a weekend, there were many customers paying at the counter. When the counter was cleared of customers, someone returned the merchandise that the customer wanted. During the last 5min when the store was about to be closed for the day, the customer returned to make the purchase. However, the merchandise were missing. So, the customer approached M and asked abt his merchandise. M just said,"I told her (which was me) I put it at the counter and that you (the customer) wanted it." I immediately apologised to the customer and told him that I was busy with the cashiering and did not notice that his merchandise had been returned. I offered to help look for his merchandise and spent about 30mins after closing time with the customer while M went back. The funny thing is, the other promoters who were present at the counter when the customer wanted to make the purchase were there and they felt angry that M had pushed the blame to me and didn't even offer to help look for the size since M was the 1 serving the customer.


2) Another promoter from the same brand,Turtle, seems interested in me. He has been pestering me recently and I am quite disgusted with his actions. There was once when I forwarded him a sms and he asked what I was doing.This is what was being exchanged:

Turtle: So, what are u doing now?
Me: Getting ready to sleep liao.
Turtle: Oh ok, pls don't dream of me tonite if not I will not be able to sleep.

Another instance when Turtle asked me to buy red bull
I: Can u help me buy a can of red bull on ur way back?
Me: Can...No prob..
I: Oh u are so sweet...Thank you sweet sweet..
DISGUSTING!!!

What's more, he told me to becareful of E, a promoter from TS, because he said he very se (as in se lang, wolf in chinese). I told E this and he said I should be more careful of Turtle.


Anyway, I'll be leaving Robinsons soon..Can't wait for sunday to come...haha..

News of Rejection

Received news from MOH regarding my application for the scholarship. Read the letter below to find out the verdict.

2 Thank you for your interest in the scholarship. However, upon careful consideration, we regret to inform you that you have not been successful in the scholarship application.

My feelings after reading the letter? I don't know...I knew before opening the letter that I would have been rejected. Don't ask me how I know..I just know..Afterall, academically, I am not that good. My grades are mediocre..I'm not 1 who scores strings of As...few here and there, yes! but not strings of it..Call me inferior but I do have an inferior complex, not confident etc..I may exude confidence in front of people but when I'm alone, I always have to convince myself to have that confidence. Nonetheless, I am thankful for the opportunity to try out the psychometric tests. To those who received the scholarship, good for you!!![I am really sincere about it]. Anyway, I have nothing to lose as the not getting of the scholarship will not hinder me from going to Flinders. I just need to be more prudent in my spending and gotta slog it out during the school hols. Flinders and Adelaide, watch out for my presence. Will be stepping your soil on July 14.

In Summary...

My Gdness!!! I need some time to catch my breath..Been busy this week, working as usual and had the honour of being invited to Chanru's 21st birthday. Anyway, this is was how I spent my week after my off-day, which was a Tuesday.

[Wed] Worked the morning shift, collected the Robinsons packing bag early in the morning with Nadia. Had to carry the bags up by ourselves as trolleys were not allowed to enter the selling floor since the store has already been opened at 10.30am. Next, my partner, Shikin, broke the news that my department is releasing Clara and her, both temp staff as the department felt that there were too many staff and besides, we are not raking in money. Initially, the plan was to release all 3 of us but after most deliberation, the management decided to keep me.. I'm not sure of how I felt then, felt jubilated that I still had work but on the other hand, wanted to rest as I was exhausted of working.. Not used to working as sales bah..

[Thurs] Worked the afternoon shift only to be told by my supervisor that I was to work the morning shift that day. Decided to attend Chanru's birthday party tomorrow since I will be working the morning shift and end work at about 7pm.

[Fri] Had lunch with Marcus, 1 of the promoter from Chester Loren. Its nice to have meals with people as I hate to dine alone. I worked slightly overtime as customers were streaming in later in the afternoon and couldn't go off till about 7plus. I rushed to get the present for Chanru as I had a 10% discount at Bodyshop. The present was to be shared by 5 of us, TingJun, Sin Yee, Kat, Sophie & me. After that, met Sophie at City Hall MRT to get to the destination. Met some other St.John people at her birthday party, caught up with them. Btw, I asked my junior who applied for the MOH scholarship whether she received news from them and she said she didn't. Boy was I glad that she has yet to receive the letter. I'm can only continue to keep my fingers crossed!!I hope that they will notify me soon as the wait is killing me. Oops, think I diverted liao. Anyway, we took pictures with the birthday girl, played cards and sang the birthday song. After that, Sophie's bf, Clayton gave us a lift home. Thanks for the ride Clayton!!! Reached home abt 12.30am, got an earful from my daddy.

[Sat] Went down to pay up my air tickets with my mum after aunty Yvonne, Phoebe's mum, helped to secure the tickets. Had dinner with Yan Ming since he was working at Robinsons during the weekend, caught up with me, exchanged stories and find out whose running for the ASc Main Committee AY05/06. All the best who are running!!!Keep your spirits up!! Finished work at 10.30pm so didn't attend the ASc BBQ...Sorry guys!!!

Hmm, I am suffering from lack of sleep...Quite tired to continue typing...Take care peeps!!!
