Did I make the wrong choice of accepting the offer letter offered by Flinders University? Why is that you are making such a fuss? Do you think I would want to go overseas if Singapore's universities have the course? Also, why did u say I have abandoned the chinese culture that was instilled in me? May I ask, who was the one who travelled abroad during our family gatherings? Not me! Who was the one not around when it is dong zhi? Not me!How then, can you say that I have erased the culture that has been instilled in me since young? Also, I wanted to stay in Singapore until the first 15 days of the Lunar New Year is over. I know no amount of family gatherings that I have attended can be counted as being fillial. But then, who is to judge as being fillial?
You were the one who encouraged me to "just try and apply". Now, you blame me for accepting the offer letter. Also, you had a hand in my education. You were the one who told me to accept when he was against it. You were the one who paid for it. Yes, I want to further my studies if I had the opportunity. Here's my opportunity, let me fulfill it.
Who do not want to be able to follow your dreams? I know, this generation has had alot of choices to choose from when it comes to education. Singapore has grown to become a first world country, with our country now prospering. How can you compare then and now? Also, the value of the money that we are using now has grown. Then, policeman wore shorts, now, they wear pants. So, stop comparing!
Studying overseas will allow your child to grow independently as well as being open-minded. You have to accept that. There is nothing more for me to say.

Christmas
Christmas..Isn't it the season of giving?However, I think this festival has now taken a whole new meaning..
Christmas is a holiday observed in much of the world on 25th December or on 7th January in most Easterm Orthodox Churches. It is celebrated by most Christians to mark the birth of Jesus Christ, but is also a significant holiday celebrated by many non-Christian people in both the Western and Eastern countries. Most Christmas traditions originated with pre-Christian observances that were subsumed into Christianity.
Christmas has become the most economically significant holiday of the year. It is largely characterized by gifts being exchanged within families and being brought by Santa Claus or Father Christmas. Various local and regional Christmas traditions are still practised, despite widespread influence of American and Bristish Christmas motifs disseminated by globization, popular literature, television, and other media.

Disappointments!
How many of us are able to live to the expectations that we have in our lives? How many a times have we fall short of our target? Felt disappointed at yourself?
There is a great deal of disappointment in this life, and everyone has experienced it. Children are disappointed when they do not receive something they want very much. Young people know disappointment when they are shunned and left out by their friends. Businessmen struggling to be successful are often disappointed. Parents are disappointed by their children. Some are disappointed in love. We all face disappointments with other people.
I was talking to Sally on MSN today and I asked her about water-baptism and God. She made 1 comment that struck me.

I told her, I will ask God for guidance because God has a PERFECT plan for each one of us. And if we fall short of our target, maybe, it is a lesson that God is trying to teach us?When I checked my results today, I am very disappointed as I failed to live up to my expectation(s). Many of you have placed such high hopes on me. I recall reading those messages that my friends left for me before I left for Adelaide. One said," Do your best!!" I have disappointed all of you!!!I really have!!I don't know how to tell my parents my results.
Looking at these things the poet Dryden wrote:
"When I consider life, tis all a cheat.
Yet, fooled with hope, men favor the deceit.
Trust on, and think tomorrow will repay.
Tomorrow's falser than the former day."
As melancholy as they are, these words aptly describe much of our existence. Everything human is stained with disappointment. We are often disappointed in life, and yet we can be assured that there is no disappointment with God.

Eyesight
Myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness), and astigmatism (distorted vision) are what as know as refractive errors.
I have been having myopia and astigmatism since I was 16. Anyway, I have also found wearing glasses a chore and contact lenses would dry my eyes. The cause(s) of myopia is an inherited condition that usually affect children. Ok, I know I had myopia way too late..But, whoever said that the eyes will never fail?
Anyway, myopia is best treated with eyeglasses and contact lenses which compensate for the elongated shape of the eye allowing the light to focus properly on the retina. As children (and their eyes) grow through the teen years, the condition typically worsens and then levels off in adulthood. During this growing period, new eyeglasses may be needed as often as every six months to correct the problem.
There is no scientific evidence that contact lenses or eye exercises stop the progression of myopia. *Refractive surgery* is available as a treatment for myopia but most ophthalmologists-medically trained eye doctors-feel that eyes with simple myopia would best be treated with glasses or contact lenses.
If there is no scientific evidence, what would explain the drop of about 75 degrees from my right eye?Is it due to the "looking at far objects?","taking a break from the computer after 40 mins?" or "maintaining at least 1m apart from the eye to the book?"
But, I am glad that my eyesight has improved. Would it improve until I do not require glasses? I miss those days where I had PERFECT eyesight!
