Confused
I did not know how to reply to a text message that came in abruptly last night from someone whom I thought had killed the relationship or let it die a natural death. Suddenly, it felt as though the relationship was given the kiss of life and it has been revived.
I got on life pretty fine without him for the past 3 weeks. I'm confused! I have been praying about it, asking the Lord that if it is His will for me to get married, for Him to introduce my knight in shining armour and for me to discerning when the time comes. I recall the Arrow meeting on Saturday where Pastor Benjamin shared about sowing the seed of God's word into our lives before we start sowing the financial seed, seeds of relationship. Perhaps, I should just treat this relationship as I would to a friend, so that in the event that we do not end up being together, I will not be hurt. Oh, its easier said than done!
Ps: Thanks Soph for your text messages, although its still pending my decision.I need direction, Lord!

Salvation is Here
I simply love this song! A piece of cheap thrill - the church that I am attending had Darlene Zschech to lead in Praise & Worship today. She's such an anointed leader that I felt the power of each song that we sang touching me. I was in awe.
Anyway, enjoy the song, stay healthy and God Bless!

Bidding the week goodbye with a sigh of relief
When 11.30am ticked in today, the atmosphere in the ward became relaxed. JCIA was officially over for the hospital, awaiting the final verdict from the 2 auditors. Needless to say, we passed when the verdict was released at 2.15pm. All the tension mounting towards JCIA was crazy. I thank the Lord that I was not called for any form of audit(s).
Despite not being audited personally, this week has been a tiring one - waking up early to get to work before 8am (before the auditors started their rounds), working your arse until your official work time, being on your guard just in case you receive a call from the ward and sitting for the basic theory test - I passed!
Praise be to the Lord for seeing me through this week and for all the little hugs and text messages that I receive. Still praying for something that has been nagging at me for quite awhile. All the best to Soph! Keeping you in my prayers.
Ps: I miss your fun side, Soph. Go away, you nerdy beast!

Praying for strength
Quoted from Pastor Prince from today's Miracle Seed Sunday, "When there is a mess in your life, God turns it into a MESSAGE. When the devil creates test in your life, God turns it into a TESTIMONY." Amen to this short quote. It is as though God knows my thoughts and feelings even before I experience them myself.
During church service today, I felt a sense of uneasiness. I don't know how to describe it - there's so much going on in my little brain that it began to resist it by giving me a headache and of course, I was trying to nurse a little stomach discomfort, probably attributed by: (1) drinking Yakult Ace Light on an empty stomach; (2) eating Big Breakfast's eggs in the morning; or (3) the antibiotics that I've been taking for my eczema flare has destroyed my good gut bacteria.
Anyway, I just pray and commit all my burdens, worries and care unto the Lord.
Dear Father, you are a great and wonderful God. You know your children's needs even before we experience them. Lord, you know the situation that I am facing right now - persecution from my parents. I pray and ask that you will use me to move them, to touch their hearts. Allow them to see your grace working through me. Lord, I also pray for a breakthrough in my debts - in Jesus' name that I will be debt-free - that I will reap bountifully. I also pray and ask for your guidance when I am work, that you will help me to maintain a positive spirit to carry out the tasks at hand and not to be affected by JCIA audit. Lastly, Lord, I pray and ask that if it your will for me to get married, I ask that you will allow me to meet the correct man. Committing my life into your Hands, I pray and ask for strength and comfort. Amen.
A list of pick-me-ups that I will/may need for the week:
1) The Lord's comfort and strength
2) Teddy bear hugs
3) A listening ear
4) Sunflowers
5) Smiles
6) Alcohol night? - I miss my uni days - after dinner board games/mahjong, late night desserts, late night drinking and those silly card games. (:

My birthday meaning
Just monkeying around Facebook when I stumbled upon this application, What Does My Birthday Mean?
Here's the analysis:
Based on your birthday...
At first glance, people think you are quiet type of person. Actually you are cheerful, but conditionally. You will show your joyful character only in good mood. One the other hand, when you are moody, no one would dare to be around. Because of your emotion fluctuation and frank character, some find you hard to be around. Your Love, You hardly show your feeling towards opposite sex no matter how much you like him/her. Your partner also has similar character so your love affairs often take quite a while to flourish. Time tells it all. Your sincerity makes you very attractive.
Your greatest STRENGTHS...
Strong will, outstanding courage and self-confidence. They are excellent leaders as long as they do not over task their followers.
Your greatest WEAKNESSES...
Obstinate and intolerant.
Jobs you should pursue...
Financial work.
Eh..Financial work?I rather be a dietitian. I don't think my little brain can take in all those number punching..(: Taking it with a pinch of salt.

In the midst of everything
The tempo shifted a notch higher as the hospital moves into high gear while preparing for JCIA audit starting next week. In the midst of all this i.e. high referral rates, my colleagues and I still managed to find time for some light heartedness.
My mentor knowing that I have been feeling "dejected" for the past week since the tactless text message that I received, she decided to match-make to a physiotherapy friend who used to work at the hospital but has since resigned and working in a NHG hospital. My mentor was also jealous that I get to enjoy on a 2D2N tour with her "lover". Anyhow, I started becoming their middle person as I'm working in the same ward as her "lover" - by telling her lover that I'm on a mission to assist my mentor in stealing a pair of underwear from him during the trip. He reacted to this statement by telling her to get him a pair and he will wear and give it to her. To help my mentor, I played along and brought a pair of disposable underwear for him. My mentor left a lipstick mark and wrote a lil' note to him. I had the honourable task of handing it to him.
However, with my pockets full of stamps and calculator and what not, I dropped the parcel couple of times in the ward. Finally, when I was in that ward, I made him take the parcel himself from my pocket by saying that my mentor had something for him and I told him to read the message in private - considering that there were many nurses around at the nurses station, with tempers about to flare. What a way to end the tiring and hectic work week. (:
Oh..I will definitely miss my mentor when she leaves to pursue graduate medicine.

Life's little seeds
As I enter a new week, I pray and ask that the Lord will see me through it.
Dear Lord, may You be with me as I sow the seeds - be it at work - financially; in terms of relationship - may it be His will that I will be married and be introduced to the right person. May the Lord bless each one of us as we go about our daily activities. Lord, I pray for a breakthrough in my life that I will be free from debts. Amen.
Passage reference 2 Corinthians 9:6 says, " Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully."

What a week
When Saturday finally crawled in this morning, I am glad to bid goodbye to what I would call, a horrendous working week! Its been a crazy emotional roller coaster ride for me at work - screaming pt's relative on tuesday, pt who broke down on wed during clinic, a not-so-well thought-out text message on friday morning from him and an anoxeric pt for friday afternoon clinic. How do you handle the emotional bits at work, without letting it affect you from performing your best?
I don't know and I have no answer. The only reason that I believe that I can still hang in there is that I have a Father who truly love me for who I am and the way I am. Not forgetting a rather supportive family and a bestie who listens to my whinges and nags.
Note to self: I can pick myself up again!

A BAD day
Imagine this scene:
You received a referral to see this patient, from a paying class ward, regarding poor oral intake and to order dietary supplements. When you enter the room, you are greeted with a scene of an angry relative who starts screaming at you, upon your self introduction. This relative questions the efficiency of the hospital in obtaining some dietary supplement for the patient, who is in pallative care. The relative is angry that the dietary supplement has not been supplied to the patient since her admission on Sunday. The relative starts insulting and belittling your profession and threatens to send in a complaint to the CEO.
How will you react?
This a real case scenario that happened to me. During the entire confrontation, I could feel myself heating up and wanting to refute with whatever the relative was saying. Since the relative was so angry, nothing I said would have mattered and the solution that I offered at that time was to ensure that dietary supplement will be send up to the patient by the end of the day. I left the room upon the relative saying, "GO!" and wanting to use the four letter F word! I was so emotional at that point that I was not even thinking rationally.
This is my first encounter since I entered the dietetics profession 3 months ago and I anticipate more to come. However, in situation(s) like this, we all can choose how we want to response to the stimulus. I read in the first chapter of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey, the author mentioned that there are many factors that can affect how we choose to respond to the stimulus, which I do not want to go into details. I reckon I approached the situation rather meekly, having been frightened by her screaming voice and verbal threats. Given a repeat, I would have dealt it with more confidence and perhaps attempt to answer her question(s) diplomatically.
Anyhow, many thanks to Soph for being such an angel. Her text message came at the time when I was feeling horrible, even though she had a rather demoralising day at school too. We agreed to meet for dinner last night and to indulge in Gelare's waffles. There is never a dull moment whenever time is spent with her. Its as if she knows when I need a listening ear even though Soph is not fantastic with consoling people - but that's alright! (: My utility curve was high when I tucked into the warm waffle topped with low fat chocolate chip ice cream with caramel sauce whilst Soph's utility curve increased when she stopped by the scrapbooking store to check out the prettily designed papers. I bet she would not have got out of the shop if I had not dragged her out of it since it was closing time.
To end off the horrible day, I received a nice warm teddy bear from Soph after acting 'girly'. If you have no idea where is the direction of the post pointing to, I would say its an avenue for me to let out and for reminding myself that I have a GREAT bestie! Kudos to our decade long of friendship and still counting.

Somewhere over the rainbow
I just returned from an immunonutrition talk and in between breaks I heard this song playing softly over the speakers. I thought I should share it with my readers. Enjoy!
Isn't it amazing when one sees a rainbow after the rain? Doesn't it give you a renewed sense of hope after the storm?
I love seeing the rainbow and it never fails to cheer me up despite what has been going on in my life. Ooh, one of life's little pleasures..(:

Love - a complicated emotion?!
On the night of 1st April, I muttered a prayer to my Lord, thanking him for seeing me through the day and for the little ripple-like effect that I have created with the people I came into contact with for the day. As I continued praying asking for directions in my life, I started crying (soft sobs). I quickly finished off the prayer with a quick AMEN and started thinking.
There have been times (many, in fact!) when I am lost and need directions in my life. This time, my love emotion is affected. As of my readers would have already guessed and confirmed, Yes! there is a guy whom I am interested in but I don't know if he is interested in me. I guess he does not really mind me since we have gone out for numerous dates already. A relationship has to start from somewhere and it usually start from a friendship - getting to know the other party, likes and dislikes, their thoughts about different issue(s), etc. There are times when I have tried to picture my future together with him. Each time I think about it, a small smile curls up on my face. However, that smile can sometimes be turned into a pout/frown. I don't know. When I think about his plus and minuses, I get all confused. I mean, I do not mind his company, however, there are times when I think he doesn't listen as much as he talks. I know it is not nice to want someone to be like yourself but shouldn't you let the other party talk to?
I still find him attractive and enjoy his company and bumping into him on the train or in the wards, brings a smile to my face. No longer do I feel a sense of awkwardness when I bump into him but I have this vibe that he still feels awkward when he bumps into me when I'm with my colleague(s). At the end of it, I sometimes wish I could ask him straight in the face, "Do you like me?" However, there will be repercussion(s) to this question which I am not prepared to face at this stage.
I have decided to leave everything (YES, literally EVERYTHING) into the Lord's hands and if it is His will for Benny and I to be together, praise the Lord. If it is not His will, I thank the Lord for allowing me to know another friend who can help me to grow stronger in my faith! Thank you to YOU for being a listening ear! You know who you are...
Ps: A nice teddy bear hug will be great! I need something to brighten my mood!
