Long Overdue

My wake up call this morning was unusual. I was greeted by a long and persistent ringing and I jolted out of bed, exclaiming, "Its the FIRE ALARM!!". Damn!! I went round knocking loudly on the doors of my immediate neighbours in hope of jolting them up and getting out of the hall. There were a few faces that gave a sleepy and blur look.

We all strolled down to the front lawn outside of Uni Hall while we waited for the first fire truck to come. We waited and waited and finally, after 10-15 mins later, did the first truck arrived without even sounding the siren. Well, I guess the fire brigade at St. Mary's must have been so used to false alarms ringing from Uni Hall that they didn't even rush out of the truck. After a good 20 minutes out in the lawn, were we allowed back into our rooms. Yes, the fire alarm has not gone of for a LLOONNGG, Long time ever since the first fire drill experienced some time in the middle of february.

And what caused the fire alarm to go off? Well, apparently, as winter is starting to set in, people now shower with a hot shower in hope keeping/warming themselves up. And so, as you may have guessed it, Yes, it is the STEAM that caused the fire alarm to go off...

As the dates of the exams are fast approaching, I can only hope that there will not be another one happening the night before an exam paper!!I need my sleep people and yes, the smoke detectors are very sensitive!
