Begining to doubt my ability

Psychometric test? What is it? To test whether we are sane? No!!!They are tests that are simply standard ways of assessing particular aspects of human behaviour. Broadly, there are two types: those which measure maximum performance or how well you can do something; and those which measure 'typical' performance or how you tend to react to particular situations. The first type covers most ability tests, the second inventories or questionnaires which measure personality, motivation, values, attitudes and interests. (http://www.morrisby.co.uk).

I had to go down to MOH today to do a psychometric test as I applied for the Health Sciences Scholarship by MOH. There were about 30-40 applicants, with the bulk coming from JCs. The test was about 31/2 hrs long...there were 2 sections to the test:timed and untimed section. The timed section consisted of 3 different tests, each 30 mins long. We were tested on logical reasoning where we had to identify the next pattern, numerical reasoning, where we were given mathematics problem sums. [Not easy!!!Those guys from JC also found it difficulty. Actually,I'm just trying to console myself..] Lastly, there was the part on verbal reasoning, where we were given passages and from the passage, identify each option whether they were true, false or can't tell-->requiring more information. After the gruelling 31/2hrs, we were let off for a 10mins break. Finally,I was able to relieve myself as my urinary sphincter was contracting real bad.

After that, we had to do a personality test consisting of 171 qns plus 14 IQ qns and 60 qns on our general health. Overall, I thought I screwed up the part on the numerical reasoning. I was stumped when I read the 1st qns. I couldn't understand what the qns was asking and I panicked!!! [SIGH!!] When I told my dad that I found the maths part hard, he looked disappointed. But I really tried my best. Also, taking this test is far more difficult that mugging for an exam. Why? Because, for exam, we study & prepare for it. However, for this test, though I prepared for it, it was mentally draining, on top off all those pressure. Thankfully, my mum just told me to do my best. Right now, I can only continue to pray that I will be called up for an interview.
