Birthday

"Happy Birthday to You!Happy birthday to You!Happy Birthday to Joanna!Happy birthday to you!" That was the fastest birthday song I have ever heard in my entire life.

The celebration of my 20th birthday is so different from that of my other 19 years of birthday. Firstly, I'm not celebrating it in Singapore with my family and friends. Secondly, I can't collect that much presents..Haha..(That's only an excuse)...But nonetheless, I had a very enjoyable birthday. Phoebe bought me a chocolate cake..Really yummy..Sang me a really fast birthday song with Jeannie. Then we cut the cake and shared it with our neighbours-->Hao Xiang, Jeannie, Liu Fei, Jun, Pao Yee & Paul..

Wanna a slice of it?

ALso, you would have never imagined how I started my first few hours of turning 20. "RRRIIINNNGGG!!!" wailed the fire alarm at the top of its "voice". It took me awhile to process the ringing in my cerebral cortex (just making use of my human physiology knowledge) since it was about 4.20am on Friday morning. (Who will ever think that the fire alarm will go off at such times in the morning?) I soon realise that it was the fire alarm and called Phoebe to wake up. We scrambled around to get our handphones, wallet, put on our jackets so as to keep us warm and our keys. When we stepped out of our room, one of our neighbour, Rhys, told us that it was raining and to get umbrellas. I opened our room door quickly to get the unmbrellas and to evacuate out of the building as soon as possible. It took the hall residents some time to file out of the hall since it was raining outside. We were then told to move to the ballroom so as to keep us out of the rain. It was only an hour later did the associate dean of the hall came to explain to us the cause of the fire. Friday's fire was a repeat incident of the fire that occured on a Saturday about 2 weeks ago. Again, the culprit deliberately set fire to a dustbin. The police was called as it was a grave matter since the lives of the residents living in the hall were endangered. It was only at about 5.30am did we return to our room. It was not long before my alarm clock rang at 7.45am--> I had a 9am lecture. Classes that day were attended in a groggy state as my body felt that it had not rested enough. I guess, I can only say, "Welcome to Hostel life!!"
