Also, the university hall had a formal dinner 3 on friday, 12 August. The theme for the dinner was "United Tastes of the Hall". As you can already guessed, the attire for the dinner was to be dressed either in your national costume or be "smart-casual". As I did not bring any national costumes from Singapore, I had to be dressed smart-casual. I initially planned to wear a white top with a striped pants. However, after I wore both outfits, I felt that I looked rather casual. So, I made a last minute ditch for the outfit. At that time, it was about 15mins before 6. (FYI: the dinner starts at 6.30pm but we had to get ready by abt 6.15pm, to listen to sme "signal", which was the sound of bagpipes.) I decided to wear a tube top that I bought from Supre along with a black skirt. I quickly applied some light make-up while Phoebe also attempted to look more "smart-casual". Our attempts to look smart-casual was greeted with slight disappointment from me. The residents in the hall was dressed somewhat like us. I guess, we didn't have to worry so much. Haha..Some residents even came down in thongs which were actually, not allowed.
The setting of the tables were really nice. Each table was decorated according to different countries like Indonesia, Seychelles etc. I was actually at the Indonesia-decorated table. Its was nice...I did enjoy the dinner that was served and drank 2 glasses of red and white wine. I was red in the face. The formal dinner was a great experience.
I am looking forward to the next formal dinner as well as the hall ball in october. I've attached some pictures below..Enjoy!!!

Before the start of the dinner..
