2008 CNY

This year's CNY feels different from last year. Perhaps, its my first CNY where I am earning my own keep and have to give red packets to my parents - for bringing me up and of course, seeing me through school. I noticed that I am not as excited as I used to when I was younger re hongbao collecting. I no longer care about the number of hong baos that I collect or the total amount that I will be receiving but any extra cash will always be welcomed! Moreover, this year's lunar new year feels alittle bit special as my da jie is home from Shanghai, which makes the house seem a bit more crowded. Although we always have a big family - its weird, ain't it once one is away that the house seem empty? Anyway, with da jie's return is also the meeting of her new boyfriend (which mum, my xiaomei and I share the same opinion but its not very convenient for me to say it here, just in case my da jie reads my blog!) - I hope that maybe they will tie the knot soon? I can't wait to be a bridesmaid!!! Keep dreaming Jo!

I also notice that as I grow older, the number of houses for visiting is dwindling so much so that most of my relatives gather at my aunt/uncle's house for dinner on the first day where we catch up with one another. The older generation asking about marriage or work or school while the little ones entertain themselves with their own games! I seriously think we need more kids in the house as the little ones are growing up too quickly!

Anyway, the past 4 days just passed too quickly with having to work on saturday just shortening my long break away from work. So, its back to work for most of us and let's make monday a cheery one rather than a blue one! Till the next post!
